PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:

Introduction to Farm Animals and Nature Exploration

Ages: 8-12yrs

Sessions: Sundays

Dates: March 13 & 20, 2016

Time: 1PM-4pm

This program offers an overview of day to day life on the farm, embraces all the nature that abounds in God’s creation, and offers a chance to learn about farm animals.

As a participant, you will walk in the shoes of a Farm Hand! Learn about farm animals like chickens and what role they play on the farm. Visit with the horses for a horse encounter. Experience God’s creation and explore the beauty of nature by engaging in a scavenger hunt and short hike. The scavenger hunt items will be used for a take-home nature craft that you put together! During the day you will learn the answers to questions like: How do you know what color egg a chicken will lay? What is a domestic animal vs a wild animal? Who made that noise? What is hay? And much more.

3 hour Program-$30 per person

Junior Animal Caretaker and Farmhand

Ages: 10-15yrs

Sessions: Monday-Thursday

Dates: To Be Determined

Time: 8am-noon

Be ready to wake up with the Roosters! Explore God’s creation here on the farm. Opportunity to try out farm living by starting and working in a garden, caring for our animals and exploring the variety of elements that make up the farm. Activities will range from feeding the horses and chickens, collecting eggs, tidy up a stall, groom a horse, watch a farrier trim horse hooves, check out the bees and beehives, and other things that may come up along the way.

This farm education program is designed to give participants an opportunity to learn about farm animals, explore a wide variety of facets of farm life. As part of this day we will have a group game or nature craft activity.

Half Day Program-$200 per person for 4-day farm classes. (includes tools and supplies)

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation one month prior to start date – full refund of registration fees;

Cancellation 2 weeks prior to start date – 50% of registration fees refunded;

No refund for cancellations within two weeks of class start date.

Requirements:

ALL CLASSES HAVE A 12 STUDENT Maximum unless other group reservations have been made

THE MAJORITY OF CLASSES ARE HELD OUTDOORS. PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER, AND HAVE STUDENTS BRING THE FOLLOWING:

  • Water bottles
  • Sunscreen
  • Closed Toe Shoes
